Developing Oneself

          In order to develop our personal character, we must know what we do for our personal growth. We must get to know ourselves more; our strengths and weaknesses as an individual. 

          Prayer is one of the key components in my personal growth. Through this, I am able to speak to God and become closer to him. I tell him all my worries and talk to him when I have no one else to run to. I ask him to guide me into doing the right things. 

          St. La Salle, who adores and praises Mary, devotes everything he has done for her. Mary is a key personality for me because without a doubt, she trusted in God. She did whatever she was told because of her love for Jesus and the Lord. St. La Salle has also encountered moments in his life wherein he had controversies with different priests and hierarchy of the Church, but he remained respectful to them because he knows that God has a plan for him and that he could go through his problem with God. I want to be like them wherein they love God so much to the point that they are willing to obey him. St. La Salle has also encountered moments in his life wherein 

          A key moment in my life where I had to make a decision that would make an impact in my life was when my friend invited me to attend the tryouts for volleyball. At the time, I was only interested in watching the sport and I had never imagined myself playing on the court. I was scared of failing and the feeling of embarrassment if I do not pass. Then I realized that trying won’t harm me. To my surprise, I actually passed. As trainings went by, I learned to love the sport. With God, we can be able to do anything. I knew that he was always there with me every second guiding me as I play.

          In 2 Peter 3:18, it says that we should grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. I want to be a person who is known for someone who breaks down and cries, but at the end of the day, I could get back up on my own feet and try again because I know that God is with me. I want to become a person that people could look up to.
